The artists have been in contact throughout the past week and have been sharing music they have been working on. They have also shared images of their home studios as a way of connecting with each other's environments.
The residency has evolved into a collaboration and the artists working on building tracks together and we are buzzing to hear what these musicians working in across very different genres produce together.
Not being in the same space or even the same time zone has definitely changed the speed of the creative process. All the artists and organisations are definitely missing that in person contact that inspire ideas and those natural conversations around the table at Islington Mill.
However the digital element has had some real benefits and definitely had opened up conversations with the organisations about the positive environmental impact of running digital international exchanges.
